As a part of the ride, over 500 Yamaha customers participated in the Beach Clean-Up Activity in Chennai
Greater Chennai Corporation workers felicitated for their commitment towards clean beaches
Following the recent launch of the 3rd version of its stimulating “The Call of the Blue” brand campaign, Yamaha Motor India Group of companies (YMIG) conducted the ‘Save the Blue Ocean’ Ride to celebrate the ‘Madras Day’. The activity was organized in association with the Tamil Nadu Government, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), and Bhumi - Non-Government Organization. The ‘Save the Blue Ocean’ Ride was a Beach Clean-up activity that was organized at the Elliot’s Beach in Besant Nagar. More than 500 customers from the Yamaha ‘Blue Streaks’ Rider community in Chennai, volunteered for this noble cause, which proved to be highly successful. As a part of the activity, a felicitation ceremony was also arranged, wherein Mr. Eishin Chihana, Chairman, YMIG, and Ms. Sneha D, Regional Deputy Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) – South, thanked the GCC Workers for their dedication towards keeping the beach area clean on a daily basis. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Eishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of companies said, “As part of our commitment to contribute to a cleaner nation and a sustainable environment, we are proud to have organised a beach clean-up effort, with support from the Tamil Nadu State Government and the Greater Chennai Corporation. Through this activity, we hope to raise awareness on creating pollution free surroundings, ultimately benefiting the young generations that follow us. We will continue to take up similar initiatives under The Call of the Blue brand campaign through our Blue Streaks rider community and raise awareness of the benefits of clean and green environment in line with the company’s vision.” Yamaha also organized fun filled customer centric activities and games, which was followed by a thank you message for the Yamaha riders. Going forward, the company aims to organize similar environment restoration activities across India, with a view to spread awareness on creating a sustainable environment for future generations.
