Chennai, 9th January 2018: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. celebrated its mascot- Zippy’s 4th birthday at C.S.I. Ewart School campus in Chennai today, while continuing to educate kids about the importance of road-safety measures via its ‘Safety-First’ campaigns.
Running in its 5th year, the Yamaha Children Safety Programme (YCSP) encourages safe and responsible road-safety culture amongst kids, as they have a major role to bring in an attitudinal shift. Yamaha believes that the right attitude in kids can also influence parents, who are actually using vehicles on the road. The campaign began in 2014; with the safety mascot ‘Zippy’ to bring about an interest among kids and create connect with them.
On this occasion, Yamaha organized a range of exciting contests and activities for students between the age-group of 7- 13 years. This was followed by Yamaha’s lovable mascot- Zippy’s birthday celebrations and an interactive session on the basic road-safety measures arranged by the brand. To make the event more exciting, Indian Idol Junior (Season 2) winner Ananya Nanda and the Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva 2017 winner Shraddha Shashidhar joined the occasion and were found interacting with the kids.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “As a responsible two-wheeler brand, ‘Safety-First’ is Yamaha’s first and foremost concern and kids play a crucial role in sending that message across in their families and society at large. It’s Yamaha’s responsibility to nurture and educate them on being responsible road users in future.”
In 2017, Yamaha Children Safety Programme (YCSP) has actively reached out to more than 300 schools in India with more than 50,000 students participating.
