Chennai, 31st May 2022: India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt Ltd. today flagged off its national ride starting from the Kanchipuram Plant location in Tamil Nadu. The route set for the ride spanning 9000kms covers 31 cities, and will have riders passing through Chennai – Aurangabad – Jamnagar – Jodhpur – Surajpur - Varanasi – Gaya – Kolkata - Bhubaneshwar and Hyderabad, with Chennai being the end point of the journey.
Accompanying the Yamaha Team on this journey, is the 149cc Neo-Retro Yamaha FZ-X and the 155cc maxi-sports scooter Yamaha AEROX 155. The team aims to put both its products through a varied range of road conditions and terrains to showcase Yamaha’s engineering prowess, reliability and build quality, for which Yamaha is strongly recognized globally.
Designed to meet the needs of the most demanding riders who wish to travel without boundaries, the Yamaha FZ-X is powered by a 2-valve Blue Core air-cooled, 149cc, SOHC Engine that produces 12.4PS of peak power at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm. The fuel tank, side covers, engine guard, headlight stays, the front fender, fender stay, and the grab-bar, on the FZ-X is made of metal for increased strength and durability. The front forks are also covered with boots for better resistance from different weather conditions.
The Yamaha AEROX 155 is powered by a new generation 155cc Blue Core engine equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve motor produces a max power output of 15PS at 8000rpm and peak torque of 13.9 Nm produced at 6500rpm.
